Lee and Mack end up embodying the Christmas dream that has been on my short list of life goals for a long time. I'm kind of jealous of them! Of course, if you haven't read the book yet, I won't spoil it for you any more than I already have.
Lee's story starts a dreary January day in the book, but we all know it doesn't really start there. No, her story started decades before that day in January outside of Protect MMA training. Her life had gone an entirely different direction than she'd planned as a college student, but more recently, had flipped back to where she started. Even after so much water had gone under the bridge in between.
So, when we meet her, she's coming full circle in a truly unexpected way.
Though Mack and team are formidable opponents, the moment they meet Lee, they are forced to admit that she is a force to be reckoned with. And reckon they will, regardless of their efforts to refuse her request.
Though Easter is usually when we spend time talking about new life, in this story, Christmas is the best time to be reborn, to come back to life with God's help.
